As a co-op organizer (way back when!) I found that communicating with owners (and potential owners) was critical. Now that I’ve been doing this work for nearly a decade, I know exactly how critical communication is. But you have SO MUCH on your to-do list that communicating with owners often takes a back seat or doesn’t get the attention it deserves.
One place where this is glaringly obvious is when it comes time to raise funds. Often owners are taken aback by how expensive it is to open the store or they have no idea where the money will come from. When we ask owners to invest in our store before they understand and get the whole picture, we see less fundraising success or delayed fundraising success. When owners are well-informed, educated, and excited about investing in their co-op we see greater success. It’s that simple.
That’s why I’ve created what I’ve recently started calling ‘paint by numbers’ content for co-ops to help them prepare their owners and broader audience for a capital campaign. It’s readymade content that is fully customizable (you can match your brand colors, font, & logo!) but the hard work (writing the content!) is done for you.
This is the 3rd ‘paint by numbers’ content package I’ve offered co-ops. And the good news is this time I’ve teamed up with two superstar cooperators: Jon Steinman (Author of The Grocery Story) and co-op developer and creative Rachel DB Creative to make this package even better than the previous packages. You can find more info in the attachment.
This kind of content is funded by many co-ops pitching in a small amount to make the content affordable for ALL co-ops. If 20 co-ops pledge just $250 this content will be made available to ALL co-ops FREE of charge. This is Cooperative Principle 6 (Co-ops Helping Co-ops) in action.
Our goal is secure 20 pledges by Jan 31, 2023, which means that you will have 90 days of content (including 3 videos!) starting Feb 1, 2023.
