It’s not yet Thanksgiving, but year-end giving is already on the minds of many. Here are three ways to utilize that giving spirit at your co-op:
- Promote gift ownerships. Giving the gift of co-op ownership is a generous gesture that does so much more than any other gift. It builds commuity, supports the local economy, and improves food access.
- Encourage charitable gifts to the co-op, especially if you have a fiscal sponsor who can receive tax deductible gifts on your behalf. Organizations across the country are asking for support at this time of year. Co-ops can too!
- Partner with a local nonprofit. Donate a small amount (for example ten bucks) to a local symbiotic charity (like a food bank or an environmental action organization) during the holidays for every ownership purchased.
